Frowning and hiding your teeth is no way to get anywhere fast. However, a smile surely will take you places, especially if you have beautiful, clean and white teeth.
When you are talking to a person, it is hard not to notice their teeth. Nice and clean teeth always make a good impression. People are realizing this and becoming more and more conscious about how their teeth look and if they are healthy and clean or not.
As we age, teeth can become very dingy looking. A simple whitening or bleaching of your teeth can take years off your appearance!
Teeth whitening can be done at home or by your dentist. However, not all kinds of teeth whitening can be effective or advisable. There are some side effects associated with teeth whitening, therefore you should take care that the method you choose does not cause a problem to your teeth or gums.
Tooth bleaching at your dentist is another way to go. However, when you go for tooth bleaching treatments, you should ensure that you have some tray mouth so that no bleaching agent leaks into your mouth. Sometimes, it happens that your mouth tray is not fitted properly and causes the bleaching chemical to go into your mouth. The bleach can in fact seep into and irritate your gums as well. If this discomfort happens, discontinue treatment and avoid anymore bleaching until you are healed.
Any teeth-whitening product will contain peroxide in order to whiten your teeth. While the peroxide can whiten your teeth, it can also cause damage to your gums and even to the tissues deep inside the tooth pulp. One of the reasons that teeth become sensitive to cold or hot foods is also peroxide. You can end up having a tooth decay, worse you can end up losing that tooth.
Some places use more than the required or the typical concentration of peroxide in the products used for tooth whitening, as high as 30 times more. This can be really dangerous if you are not careful.
You can stay away from coffee, tobacco and other foods, which can have a staining effect on your teeth. If you want clean white teeth, then you should consume these in moderation and always rinse your mouth after eating or drinking them.
While laughter might be the best medicine, it is difficult to put up a smile when your teeth are yellowed and stained. Instead of putting your teeth through different chemicals, you should brush your teeth regularly, at least twice a day for at least 2 minutes, in order to keep them clean and white. You should always visit your dentist regularly so that he or she can detect the presence of any problem beforehand and treat you accordingly.
