Applying Foundation
Applying foundation can be a bit confusing for someone new to applying makeup. This simple article gives you a quick overview of how to apply foundation and to make it look right.
First, find a foundation you like. You can apply it with a brush, with your finger, whatever you like, but make sure that it’s something that you like. You also want to buy a good concealer (it can be a cheap one from the dollar store if needed.) and a setting powder. Make sure that your foundation is about the same tone as your skin, or only one shade below or above it.
First, apply your concealer where needed and rub gently with your fingertip into the shape that you need. Wipe your fingers and pull out your foundation.
Apply your foundation with your fingers at first. Apply one dot to your “third eye” (a little above and between your eyebrows. Think of what you see on some Hindi brides. The little red dot that looks kind of pretty? That’s right.), your cheek bones, to the tip of your nose, to your chin, and maybe one along each side of your jaw line.
Next, use your hand or your brush to blend. Now, keep in mind that you need to keep blending from your jaw line down to your neck. If you don’t, it will look kind of funky and not right. Make sure to blend it until each inch of your skin is covered. Don’t use any more or any less. Make due with what amount you have from each dot.
After this, pull out a powder that is translucent or skin colored. Very gently apply it all over your face with a fluffy brush to set your makeup. Afterwards…you’re done! Apply the rest of your makeup how you would like it!
